It seems that Janne Pesonen is stuck in the minors, and I don't really see a place for him on this team right now. Who would you bench?
Perhaps Dupuis? Godard? I think those two are the most expendable forwards.
Also if the D get all healthy who do you bench? I'd say Boucher, Eaton and Gill. Boucher has gotten alot of ice time but has not really impressed me. why didn't Sydor get that kind of opportunity. I count that Gill has 3 own goals this year. He is a massive body, but I think he would be the odd man out.
Do others have an opinion on this?
Boucher has played in 3 games. So if someone doesn't impress you that quickly he should be benched? Give me a break. They're not benching Godard. Cooke fights sometimes, but Godard can beat the living shit out of people. They need an enforcers presence on the ice sometimes.
I remember when a puck went in off of Scuds this season, so should they bench him too? Everyone thinks that the organization somehow cares about their opinions. Guess what, they don't. Leave the decisions up to the people who make them.
Why does Janne Pesonen need to come up here? There is no reason to bring him up ... Dupuis has been playing well and brings a lot of energy. Why bench Godard if we need him to be the enforcer (as gretzkysucks mentioned)?
Boucher hasn't impressed you because he hasn't been with the team long enough to adjust to the system of play. Gill has impressive play on PK with Scuds. Notice he is always out there with Scuderi on our PK? He's probably not going to go, Goligoski is the 1st to go because he is easier to send down and is younger.
Oh and by the way, you might want to stop the Mario likes little boys shit. Are you fucking kidding me? I don't care if you insult anyone else, but don't insult him. And I don't care if you were joking, it's a stupid thing to say.

And I think the Mario liking little boys has gone a little too far. I just mentioned the fact that in all the commercials that have been posted, he awkwardly interacts with a little boy (which is true).
Perhaps hockey players are just not great actors. Yes, even the Gretzky in D2. hahaha.

Take it easy on Boucher, the pens play a pretty different defensive system than a lot of teams, and he's still getting used to it. Also, I can think of at least 3 goals that have gone in off of Gill, and I don't see anywhere near as many people saying bench him.
Also, why call up Janne Pesonen when Chris Minard is down there with 16 goals in 18 games? Minard is playing amazing and is probably the best potential scoring winger we have in the system.

Most likely we WILL see Gogo, LeGame, or Whit traded this year. We just have too many talented offensive defensemen and we simply DON'T need that many. We can get some good returns on Gogo or LeGame and if Whit is the one to go we'll clear some cap space as well as get fairly good returns.

@Fleuryous - I heard from an anonymous source of mine that Avery helped design this years ice girls uniforms. It was written in as part of his contract.
I literally when to Google and typed in "Sean Avery is" and a couple suggestions came up.
I suggest you do the same.

i don't have a direct line to King Shero himself, but i think all of us here on Cblog can agree that he has some kind of plan.
I highly doubt that his plan includes trading a rookie and/or a sophomore player with unlimited upside right now, or in February. Those guys are both cheap right now and playing above their years. Their value to the team is probably higher as a member of the Penguins than as trade bait.
I don't care one way or another about what Shero does, because he hasn't been wrong yet. That being said, i would be surprised if the Pens were included in another blockbuster this year at the deadline. Even if they do become a big player, they have a decent surplus of defensemen(assuming that Whit and Gonch come back and are able to play at 100% or thereabouts), which will probably allow them to trade defensemen instead of draft picks.
Kovalchuk would probably be the only guy that i'd trade Gogo or Tanger for. Gaborik can eat me.

I don't get all the Sid and Kovalchuk hate each other nonsense that people bring up when a hypotheticaly deal to bring in Ilya is brought up. That was three years ago, they're professionals, and I think I remember Kovalchuk actually saying in an interview a while back that Crosby was his favorite player in the NHL. If either of them still held a grudge over that I would be surprised. I may stand in the minority here among Pens fans, but I thank Ilya for the point. Crosby was a little bit of a loose cannon who had a lot of growing up to do. I think the point helped him mature by embarassing him.
And come on, you have to admit it was fucking badass.
